Visible Smoke North of Sexsmith – No Threat to Public 

Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 5:45 p.m.: The County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service would like to advise the public of visible smoke due to a fire burning north of the Town of Sexsmith in an area along Range Road 60, north of Township Road 744.  

There is no threat to County residents. The fire is burning in the Forest Protection Area and County crews are assisting Alberta Forestry in the response.  

The public is asked to avoid the area to allow crews to conduct their work.
