Acreage Owner Pesticide Program
The Acreage Owner Pesticide Program is a cooperative effort between land owners, Lakeland College, and the County of Grande Prairie. Acreage owners can learn how to control noxious and prohibited noxious weeds on their land and receive a certificate that allows them to apply specified herbicides provided by/purchased from the County Agriculture Department.
The goal is to train acreage owners how to control noxious and prohibited noxious weeds on their land in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
You'll take a course and learn:
- How herbicides work
- How to safely apply herbicides
- Options other than herbicides
If you have questions about controlling noxious or prohibited noxious weeds, contact us by email or 780-532-9727.
How can I apply?
Start today, by contacting us by email or 780-532-9727 to see if you are eligible for program. Then you can complete the registration form for the Lakeland College Acreage Owner Pesticide Program Certification Program.
