Roadside Mowing

Did you know the County maintains over 6,200 kms of roadside vegetation along rural roads each year? Not only does our Roadside Mowing program control weeds and brush and maintain road edges, it also helps to keep you safe while traveling.

How can you help to keep our mowers safe?

  • Be alert - and watch for mowers along rural roads
  • Reduce your speed
  • Pass only when safe to do so
  • Keep ditches clear of debris

Your ditch will be mowed once during the mowing season, with some areas receiving a second cut.

Vegetation control on primary and secondary highways is the responsibility of Alberta Transportation.

You may choose to mow the ditch in front of your property; however you will be responsible for your own equipment.
