Weed Warrior Volunteering
Calling all nonprofit groups!
This is a win/win fundraising program to help combat scentless chamomile and other noxious weeds in the County of Grande Prairie.
Your group will start the day with an educational session and orientation. Next, you will head out to your site (which has been selected for you) and spend half a day picking weeds with the County's Agriculture Assistants. Once the weeds on site are picked, your group will receive a $500 donation. Each year we offer 2 bonus incentives: $100 for the group that has picked the most weeds (by weight), and $100 for the group with the most team spirit.
Requirements
Participants must:
- Be a minimum of 9 years of age,
- Wear a team Weed Warriors shirt and gloves (provided during orientation), and
- Wear sturdy footwear
