Update 1: Water Advisory and Power Disruption in Teepee Creek

Water Advisory and Power Disruption in Teepee Creek

March 9, 4:47 p.m.

Following the water advisory issued for the Hamlet of Teepee Creek earlier today, Municipal Utilities staff will be cleaning water tanks that service the hamlet in order to supply potable water.

Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday March 10, 2026. At the same time, a planned power outage will be taking place as ATCO crews accommodate a high load move.

  • The power outage is expected to last from approximately 8:00 a.m. until noon.
  • The water outage is expected to last from approximately 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

When water service is restored, all residents must flush all water lines in their homes for a minimum of 20 minutes before using the water for drinking or cooking. After flushing lines, the water will be potable and safe to drink and cook with.

Residents are asked to adhere to the current water advisory, under direction from Alberta Health Services (AHS), until they have completed their own water flushing.

Temporary repairs to the community’s water filtration system will be completed tomorrow. Final repairs are pending equipment and are expected to be completed in approximately six weeks. Residents will be notified when the final repairs are complete.
