    Thursday, June5, 2025,12:00 p.m. – The County of Grande Prairie has issued an Evacuation Order. The Evacuation Order is in effect for everyone located north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 130.

    Wednesday, May 4, 2025, 8:30 p.m. –  The Evacuation Alert is still in effect for everyone north of Township Road 710 to Township Road 740, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 130. No evacuation is required at this time. If an evacuation order is issued, residents will have 30 minutes to evacuate.

    Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 6:00p.m. – The County of Grande Prairie has issued an expanded evacuation alert area for a wildfire burning southwest of Kelly Lake due to significant fire growth. The evacuation alert area has been expanded north and south to include everyone north of Township Road 710 to Township Road 740, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 130. No evacuation is required at this time. If an evacuation order is issued, residents will have 30 minutes to evacuate. 

  • Update #8: Updated size for wildfire southwest of Kelly Lake; Evacuation Alert Remains

    Monday, June 2, 2025, 4:15p.m. – The Kiskatinaw River wildfire (G70422), burning southwest of Kelly Lake in British Columbia (BC), grew Sunday afternoon, but has not moved any closer to the Alberta border. BC Wildfire Service updated the size of the fire to 3,901 hectares from 3,043 hectares.

    Sunday, June 1, 2025, 2:10 p.m. – There have been no significant changes to the Kiskatinaw River wildfire (G70422), burning southwest of Kelly Lake in British Columbia (BC). Alberta Wildfire and the County of Grande Prairie continue to monitor the situation. The fire remains about 7 km from the Alberta border, and the BC Wildfire Service has updated its size to 3,043.9 hectares.

  • Update #6: Proactive planning continues for wildfire southwest of Kelly Lake

    Saturday, May 31, 2025, 11:30 a.m. – The following update has been provided by Alberta Wildfire:

    Alberta Wildfire and the County of Grande Prairie continue to monitor the Kiskatinaw River wildfire (G70422), burning southwest of Kelly Lake in British Columbia (BC). The fire is about 7 km from the Alberta border and is estimated at 4,554 hectares. Although the wildfire remains within BC, proactive planning continues in the event it crosses into Alberta. BC Wildfire Service is actively responding with crews, helicopters, air tankers, and heavy equipment.

    Friday, May 30, 2025, 10:00 a.m. – There was no significant overnight growth of the out-of-control wildfire burning approximately 7.5 kilometres from the BC/Alberta border. The Evacuation Alert will remain in place.  

  • Update #4: Evacuation Alert remains in effect due to wildfire southwest of Kelly Lake

    Thursday, May 29, 2025, 9:15 p.m. – The Evacuation Alert remains in effect for everyone located north of Township Road 720 to Township Road 732, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 130.   

    No evacuation is required at this time. If an Evacuation Order is issued, residents will have 30 minutes to evacuate.  

  • Update #3: Evacuation alert issued for County residents affected by Kelly Lake Wildfire

    Thursday, May 29, 2025, 4:20 p.m. – The County of Grande Prairie has issued an Evacuation Alert for everyone located north of Township Road 720 to Township Road 732, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 130.

    The fire is approximately 7 kilometres from the Alberta border.
