We offer:
- Recreation Fee Assistance to ensure all residents have access to recreation opportunities.
- Recreation and Culture grants to help community organizations.

Kids Can Catch
August 13 | County Sportsplex Pond 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In partnership with the Alberta Conservation Association
Join us for a day of family fun and fishing! Whether you're new to fishing or just want to enjoy a day by the water, this event is perfect for kids and families.
- Learn how to bait a hook
- Discover the best spots to drop a line
- Get tips on what to do when you catch a fish
- Learn about fish care and conservation

Please note that a Fishing License is not required for those under 16 or over 65. Adults may assist youth without obtaining a license, provided the youth is the one primarily fishing. The County Sportsplex Pond is a catch and release facility only and the County follows the Alberta Sportfishing Regulations.
Alberta Conservation and Hunter Education Course
August 18, 19, & 20 | NuVista Energy Centre, 400 10 Street Beaverlodge | 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Get ready to explore the outdoors safely and responsibly! The Alberta Conservation and Hunter Education Course is designed for youth ages 12 to 17 who are interested in learning the fundamentals of safe hunting practices, wildlife conservation, and responsible firearm use.
Brought to you through a partnership between the County of Grande Prairie, the Town of Beaverlodge, and the Alberta Conservation Association, this program is led by certified instructors from GP Firearm Safety. Participants will gain essential knowledge and skills to become ethical and informed hunters, while also meeting the requirements for provincial hunter education certification.
Whether your child is new to hunting or looking to build on existing knowledge, this course offers a supportive and engaging learning environment to help them succeed.
Registration: $75.00 - fees reduced thanks to ACA grant funding.
