Thank you for your interest in working with the County of Grande Prairie.

You can find our procurement opportunities on our Bid Opportunities Website. We use the bids&tenderstm electronic procurement platform to purchase required goods, services and construction. This program will let you review, register, download, and respond to the various opportunities very easily.

Notices for procurement opportunities will continue to be posted on the Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC) website. 

 

We use bids&tenderstm software. As a first-time user you will be required to create a free account which you can do on our main bidding page. Make sure you have the following information handy as you will need it to start your account:

  • Legal Company Name

  • Company address, fax, website

  • Any other business names (Optional)

  • Tax Registration Number (HST, GST, FEIN)

  • Company Contact(s) (Optional)

    • First Name, Last Name

    • Phone/cell number and extension

Bidder Debriefing Opportunities

The County of Grande Prairie is committed to supporting fair, open, and transparent procurement processes. Once the successful vendor for a particular procurement project has been announced, all participating companies wishing to receive feedback on their submissions are invited to contact the Procurement Advisor to schedule a debriefing appointment.

Vendor Performance Report Card

Good working relationships with our vendors is important. To help with this, the County has established a Vendor Performance Report Card procedure to support successful project outcomes and strengthen vendor performance.

General Terms and Conditions

County Partnership with Veriforce (ComplyWorks)

Looking for an opportunity to work with us? The County of Grande Prairie relies on a variety of vendors to supply a wide range of products and services. Our prequalification process assists us to establish a list of qualified vendors who meet the following criteria:

Workplace safety is a cornerstone of operations at the County of Grande Prairie. No matter the location or task, we are committed to ensuring consistent safety standards across all contractor engagements.

To support this commitment, the County has partnered with ComplyWorks, a Veriforce Product—a recognized leader in contractor risk and compliance management. This partnership allows us to maintain current and compliant documentation, orientations, and certifications for every contractor, ensuring that all individuals performing work on behalf of the County are properly vetted, competent, and safe in their duties.

Through ComplyWorks, safety, supply chain, and ESG information will be collected and managed in a centralized platform. This streamlined approach reduces administrative burden, promotes accountability, and strengthens workplace safety across all projects.

Why ComplyWorks?

  • Over 60% of the County’s existing contractors were already registered with ComplyWorks, making it a natural choice.
  • The platform provides a consistent and transparent process for tracking requirements and managing risk.
  • Registration is required for all contractors, regardless of company size, ensuring the same standards of safety and compliance are applied across the board.

Costs and Considerations
The County does not directly cover the cost of registration. Some contractors may choose to recoup this expense through administrative or overhead fees within their pricing. While this may represent an additional cost, particularly for smaller operators, it is viewed as an investment in safety, accountability, and operational efficiency.

These fees are an annual connection fee to the County of Grande Prairie.


Support for Contractors
If you are experiencing issues accessing the County’s requirements through ComplyWorks, this may be due to account setup or configuration. Contractors are encouraged to contact ComplyWorks support directly or reach out to the County to be connected with our representative for assistance.

The County of Grande Prairie values the contributions of all contractors, from independent operators to larger organizations. By adopting this platform, we aim to minimize barriers while fulfilling our responsibility to maintain strong safety and risk management practices.

  • $2,000,000 per occurrence liability insurance for low-risk work (as defined by Schedule 2 of Alberta’s OHS Code) 
  • $5,000,000 per occurrence liability insurance for high-risk work (as defined by Schedule 2 of Alberta’s OHS Code) 
  • A WCB Account in good standing 
  • Acknowledgement of the County’s Terms and Conditions 
  • Acknowledgement of the County’s Contracting Employer Health and Safety Orientation

  • The County values workplace health and safety. Preference will be given to prequalified suppliers that possess a COR certification.
  • Suppliers seeking to assume the role of Prime Contractor on a County job must possess a COR certificate.

Why Did the County Choose ComplyWorks?
The County of Grande Prairie partnered with ComplyWorks, a Veriforce Product, to ensure all contractors maintain current and compliant documentation as part of our safety and risk management protocols. Over 60% of existing contractors were already registered with ComplyWorks, making it the most practical and cost-effective choice.

For your opportunity to join our list of prequalified vendors, complete our Contractor and Vendor Prequalification Package. Before you begin you will want to gather the following information and have them available. You will need your:

  • Insurance certificate;
  • WCB clearance letter dated within seven (7) days of your submission; and
  • COR(if applicable).
