Wood Stoves, Fireplaces and Air Conditioners

You will need the following before installing a wood stove or other solid fuel burning appliance including a week burning fireplace:

• Completed Residential Building Permit Application or Non-Residential Building Permit Application,
• Completed Solid Fuel Burning Appliance Information Supplement Form,
• Copy of installation instructions,
• Application fee as set out in the fees and charges schedule.

Gas fireplaces require a completed Gas Permit Application along with the application fee as set out in the fees and charges schedule.

The installation manual is required to be on site at the time of inspection for review.

An Electrical Permit Application along with the application fee is required to be submitted prior to the installation of an Air Conditioner, this can be done online using our Gateway portal.
