Plumbing Permits

Plumbing Permit Banner

The Plumbing Regulations set the standards for plumbing installation. Plumbing Permits ensure these installations meet these standards. Plumbing permits are governed by the Alberta Safety Codes Act and Permit Regulations. Applications for Plumbing Permits can be made online using our Gateway portal.

Plumbing Permit is needed to install, alter, or add to a plumbing system and needs to be applied for prior to the work commencing.

Applications can be made online using the County's Gateway Portal or visit the Administration Building.

When doing renovations, you are only required to bring affected systems up to today's standards, though we recommend bringing all systems up to date.

No, general maintenance or replacement of fixtures does not require permits, unless you are altering your drainage system.

Permits expire if work is not commenced within 90 days of issuance or if the project is suspended for more than 120 days.

However, all work should be completed within the life of the associated Development and Building Permits.

A landowner who personally resides on the parcel of land where the work is to occur, or a licensed journeyman plumber must apply for a Plumbing Permit.
