Planning Hearings and Notices

Public hearings are an opportunity for Council to hear from anyone affected by proposed bylaws or resolutions, including proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw or new or amended Area Structure Plans, prior to making a decision on the matter.

Public hearings are scheduled during regular Council meetings beginning at 1:00 pm in the order they appear on the agenda. The length of individual hearings can vary, therefore exact start times for specific applications cannot be provided.

You can speak at the hearing or provide written comments in advance. Written submissions must be received by 4:30pm the Thursday before the scheduled hearing date. Note any information you provide may be made public subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you wish to speak at a hearing, you will be invited to do so by the Chair as per the Procedural Bylaw. Land Use Bylaw Amendments - Bylaw # 2680

1. The purpose of this amendment is to designate part of NW-2-72-6-W6 located on the South side of Whispering Ridge, approximately 1/2 Mile North of the City of Grande Prairie on the East side of RGE RD 62 from Agricultural (AG) to Rural Residential (RR-2) to accommodate a proposed multi-lot subdivision of 41 residential lots, and 2 municipal reserve lots (also known as Whispering Ridge Phase 13) File # PLLUB20250101

2. The purpose of this amendment is:

a) to create the Hythe Direct Control 1 District (HY-DC1)

Location: Road Plan 0825282, all that portion of road lying within Plan 252. Containting 0.53 hectares, more or less, excepting thereout all mines and minerals

Nature of the Application:
The purpose of this application is to close and dispose of a section of undeveloped road allowance Plan 0825282 located within SW-6- 75-12-W6. The intent is to consolidate the closed portion of road into the remainder of the quarter SW-6-75-12-W6. This consolidation would result in the County disposing of its interests in this portion of land. Prior to the closure and disposal of Municipal interests, the County must first hold a public hearing on this matter.
