Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management
The Clairmont Center for Recycling and Waste Management is the only landfill solely owned and operated by the County of Grande Prairie. Services include waste disposal, recycling, and backyard organics tools.
Hours of Operation
Monday – Saturday | 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. |
Sunday | Closed |
Statutory holidays | Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day & Family Day |
Last loads of the day | All commercial & residential truck and trailer loads tipping at the landfill face must cross the inbound scale by 5:30 p.m. All customers need to be unloaded by 6:00 p.m. and clear of the scale. |

Backyard Organics Diversion Program
The County has a Backyard Organic Diversion Program, where many organic items can be composted or digested in your backyard to prevent it from going into the waste stream at the landfill. Simply build your own compost or purchase a home composting or food digester unit.
Facility Rules
All residents must present their waste card at the scale.
Failure to do so may result in wait times or fees.
- Treat Clairmont Centre staff and other visitors with respect.
- Always follow instructions given by Clairmont Centre staff.
- Dispose of all waste and recycling appropriately, as directed by Clairmont Centre staff.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere on site.
- Obey all road and site signage.
- No children or pets outside of the vehicle.

* Please check your dump trailer battery and operation before loading to ensure it works.
