Due to cooler temperatures and precipitation over the last few days, the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service will be downgrading its fire restriction to a fire advisory for the County, along with the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley, effective at 1pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Under the advisory, new fire permits can be issued but may be restricted. Safe campfires are allowed in backyards with a permit, as well as in campgrounds and in backcountry or random camping areas.
