Dog Licences

The County of Grande Prairie keeps residents and animals safe. View the Animal Control bylaw which outlines the rules and licensing requirements for dogs as well as regulations for dogs, cats and other animals and the Regional Animal Care Facility.

Dog Licences

All dogs over the age of six months that reside in the County require a licence.

  • Dog licences are free and available online.
  • Residents can also apply in person at the County Community Services Building located at 10808 – 100 Avenue in Clairmont (1.6 kilometres west of Highway 2 on Township Road 724).
  • Once the licence is processed, a copy of licence and a tag will be mailed to the owner's address.
  • All dogs must have a securely fastened tag on at all times.
