La Glace Waterline Construction (May - August 2023)
Underground water infrastructure is being installed in La Glace starting May 8, 2023 and ending late August 2023. Details of the project are as follows:
- Directional drilling of water distribution mains and source water supply lines starts May 8 and will continue for several weeks.
- Service to Sunshine Plaza will be the first connection. Connections to the new water main with existing services (from the old distribution lines) will commence afterwards one by one.
- During the switchover from the old distribution lines to the new ones, each customer will experience a water outage. It is expected to be less than four hours per connection. Customers will be contacted several days in advance to let them know when they should expect a water outage.
- Water service is not anticipated to be disrupted outside of the planned switchovers that will be communicated to residents. If customers experience a water outage that they were not informed about, they should call Public Works at 780-532-7393 to report the outage.
- Residents should anticipate equipment and construction noises over the duration of the project. Traffic disruptions are anticipated to be minor to accommodate crews moving around the community.

Lead in Drinking Water | ||||

Under the guideline, the Maximum Acceptable Concentration (MAC) was lowered from 0.010 mg/L to 0.005 mg/L and testing is now conducted at the customer's tap instead of the distribution system. The purpose of the Lead Management Program is to educate the public on:
