Important Information During Canada Post Strike

With the nation-wide Canada Post strike on September 25, 2025, the County of Grande Prairie is providing options to residents to ensure County services can continue. 

 

County Services

Cheques for vendor/supplier and customer invoices will be available for pick up, unless Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is requested. Those impacted will be contacted directly. 

  • Utility bills can also be picked up in person.  

All home support clients will be notified regarding making payments over the phone or in person. If the strike continues, invoices will be emailed to vendors, and printed invoices will be delivered to home support clients. 

Visit www.countygp.ab.ca/election for information regarding Special Ballot requests 

  • Permit applications can be made in person at the or by downloading forms at www.countygp.ab.ca/permits and emailing the completed forms to plan@countygp.ab.ca. Payments will be accepted in person or by phone using a credit card. 

  • Applications requiring notice to adjacent landowners will be held until the end of the postal strike. Email-based referrals will continue. View scheduled public hearings at www.countygp.ab.ca/publicnotices

Dog owners can pick up tags in person at the Community Services Building or the County Administrative Building.

The County is not able to send mail during the Canada Post strike.
