Scheduled Public Hearings

Public hearings are an opportunity for Council to hear from anyone affected by proposed bylaws or resolutions, including proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw or new or amended Area Structure Plans, prior to making a decision on the matter.

Public hearings are scheduled during regular Council meetings beginning at 1:00 pm in the order they appear on the agenda. The length of individual hearings can vary, therefore exact start times for specific applications cannot be provided.

You can speak at the hearing or provide written comments in advance. Written submissions must be received at least 5 days before the scheduled hearing date. Note any information you provide may be made public subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you wish to speak at a hearing, you will be invited to do so by the Chair as per the Procedural Bylaw. Visit the Council Calendar and select the Council Meeting or call 780-532-9722 for information on how to participate.

The MPC meeting that recessed on February 10, 2026, will resume at 1:30 p.m. on February 23, 2026. The meeting will continue from the same point in the agenda when it was recessed. February 23, 2026 

Intention to Lease Environmental Reserve Lands. Byaw #3278

The Aspen Ridge Community Association has applied to the County to lease the above noted
environmental reserve lands. Environmental Reserve lands are designated to
protect natural features, prevent the pollution of water bodies, and restrict development in areas
where conditions may be unsafe. The requested lease is intended to protect the environmental
integrity of these lands and to ensure public safety by maintaining the area in its natural
state.
Adoption of this Bylaw would allow the County to enter into a lease agreement with the Aspen
Ridge Community Association for a period not exceeding three years in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.

March 9, 2026 

  1. The purpose of this amendment is to designate part of NW-11-73-6-W6 located South of HWY 672 and East of RGE RD 62 from Agricultural (AG) to Rural Medium Industrial (RM-2) to accommodate a subdivision of two industrial lots. File # PLLUB20250620.

2.The purposed amendment has multiple re-designations [File # PLLUB20260012] located on the northwest corner of the intersection of TWP RD 734 and RGE RD 80.

      a. Firstly, a boundry adjustment to increase the size of Lot 1A Block 1 Plan 0226040 by 0.273Ha (0.67acres) is proposed reducing the area of SE-25-73-8-W6 CofT 172 015 462). Requiring the rezoning from Agricultural (AG) to Limited Institutional Recreational (L-IR) on the portion to be added to Lot 1A.

    b. Secondly, rezoning of Pt. SE-25-73-8-W6 (CofT 772 242 160) and Pt. SE-25-73-8-W6 (CofT 172 015 462) from Agricultural (AG) to County Residential (CR-5) to accomendate the subdivision of two residential lots.
