Extended Hours for Property Tax Payments
Property Taxes are due June 30. The County offers easy online payment options and extended hours on June 26, 29, and 30 to accommodate in-person payments.
Extended Hours: Friday, June 26; Monday, June 29; and Tuesday, June 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including over the lunch hour.

The County of Grande Prairie will soon launch its 7th annual Business Retention & Expansion (BR+E) survey to better understand the needs, challenges, and plans of local businesses. Feedback from the survey will help shape economic development initiatives and track business trends over time.

Veterans Memorial Garden and Interpretive Centre Funding Awarded — Council approved the $5,000 funding request from the Canadian Motorcycle Tourism Association (CMTA) for the Veterans Memorial Garden and Interpretive Centre. CMTA runs the Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre in the City of Grande Prairie. The project started in 2017, as a place to teach the community about the military history in northwest Alberta. Since 2019, the County has awarded $20,600 in grants to the initiative.
County Opens Nominations for Third ‘It Takes a Volunteer’ Campaign
The County of Grande Prairie is once again celebrating the dedication and generosity of volunteers with the return of the 'It Takes a Volunteer' campaign. Now in its third year, the program continues to shine a light on the individuals, groups, and organizations that make a meaningful impact through volunteerism.

Aquatera Utility Bylaw Approved — Council gave final reading to Bylaw #3246 Aquatera Utility Bylaw as presented. The new bylaw includes a 4.5 per cent annual increase in water and wastewater utility services, effective March 1, 2025. Residential Clairmont customers are expected to see an increase of approximately $5.69/per month, while remaining County residential customers on Aquatera systems will see an increase of approximately $5.34/per month. While Aquatera continues to explore opportunities to avoid increasing costs, periodic increases are required to ensure the rate matches the cost of delivering essential services. Over the next four years, Aquatera will be undertaking a significant capital infrastructure addition and replacement cycle.
Alde Family Recognized as the County's 2025 Farm Family of the Year
The County of Grande Prairie recognizes Kreg and Lee-Anne Alde, owners of Broken Tine Orchard, as the 2025 Farm Family of the Year. This fourth-generation farm has evolved over nearly a century, blending history and innovation with a steadfast commitment to agriculture, sustainability, and community.
Clairmont Crime Prevention Town Hall Rescheduled
The County of Grande Prairie has rescheduled the Clairmont Crime Prevention Town Hall after last week’s cancellation due to winter weather.
UPDATE January 16, 2025 4:49 p.m. – Emergency crews have left the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 672 (Emerson Trail) and Range Road 74. Traffic control is still in effect as tow trucks clear the scene. Motorists are advised to continue to approach with caution, drive slowly and follow the directions of the on-site traffic control personnel.

Hythe Heritage and Historical Society Request — The Committee received a letter and presentation from the Hythe Heritage and Historical Society Board requesting that the County assume the assets owned by the Society. The Committee recommended to Council to take no action on the request from the Society and directed Administration to assist with the process of dissolution or finding other organizations that may be willing to assume the Society's assets.
